| Ode to a Dead Gecko #2 18"x 26" Etching on 2 panels of Arches paper In this piece, there is everything that a gecko needs to live, moths, mosquitos, flies, ants ...... "Gecko Heaven" (the lino fragment) is the same idea in black and white. The reason for this gecko work is that I inadvertently brought a dead one home in my suitcase from a trip to Samoa (where in the old days they were a kind of deity, today they are just handy to have around to eat stray mosquitos). Anyway, I felt I had to do something to commemorate the sad occasion -- to let the gecko live on! |
